Can I get mechanic to fix transmission issues two years after his replacement?

I had my transmission replaced 2 years ago in my Toyota 4runner. As soon as I got it back from the mechanic I started getting the check engine light with the code "shift solenoid e malfunction." I cantacted the mechanic who replaced my transmission about it and he advised me to clear it a few times and drive to see if it keeps coming back. In the mean time I got in an accident with only liability insurance. I just got it fixed after sitting in my garage for 2 years and it is still giving me the check engine for the same code. What are the odds I can take it back to the mechanic, explain the situation and get him to fix it without charging me again? I probably have not put 1k miles since the transmission replacement. He should have gotten the mileage when he did the work right?

Need help..after driving the car for about 30 min arrived to my destination put it in park turned it off and seconds later a pop like a tire blew out then coolant started coming out from the passeger side not to mention steamed/smoke from hood cant seem to find what it is I checked the 2 main hoses they look fine coolant was everywere on top mainly on bottom of radiator and on top what am I looking at .

Rough start, rough idle. Smoke on acceleration, stalled after some distance while idling at a light.?

I start my car roughly, idles rough. Heavy white(grey?) smoke billows out of muffler on acceleration. Slow acceleration. After driving around a bit my car stalled on me. Dark colored(brown/black not sure) in the radiator reservoir. Underneath car under the passenger side of the car towards the front seems to be leaking liquid. Not sure if tan, or tan from sand in driveway. Daily commute is about 20 miles each way. 2006 suzuki reno; 75k miles. Regular oil change and fluid checks, filter replacements. Thank you.
