I'm learning how to drive & I'm really short.?

Okay. So I'm 18 & learning how to drive. I'm a fast learner, but this has taken more time because of my height. I'm 5'0 and even if I move the seat up to reach the pedals, I still can't see the front of the car so I can't see if I'm in the lanes or not. I've test driven a hummer, and a small infinity. I'm getting a car tomorrow and it's a 2013 Volskwagom Jetta. I test drove it but still had problems seeing ahead. Any tips? Maybe a pillow?

Question: In California, are you allowed to use to center left turn lane to stop and wait for traffic to pass?

Update : I'm taking my driving test on Tuesday. So when you leave the DMV parking lot, you have to take a left turn onto a two way road which has a center left turn lane in the middle, and then take a right turn. If there's traffic on the far side of the road, can you wait in that turn lane for the traffic to pass, or do you have to wait until both lanes are free and turn into the far side of the road from the parking lot?

Question: I'm 23 and I drove for the first time ever?

I'm 23 and I drove for the first time ever?

Well I got my permit Friday I know I'm too old to not to learn how to drive but my cousin was teaching me how to drive his car my nerves got to me so I wasn't listening to we'll while I was putting the car in reserve to back out in the parking spot I hit the brake to hard and I was backing up to fast luckily it was no car behind me I was upset at myself and when I was driving I was a nervous wreck I was driving super slow I didn't want to go in normal speed because I was afraid I was going to crash into park cars or hit someone I was so scared and I'm so mad because I'm a man and I was acting like a little girl out there I almost mess my cousin car up and the car was a automatic I got a lot to learn because I was driving in the street of my first time driving

Question: Legal Advice Needed (3 tickets & car impounded Jersey City NJ)?

Posted: 24 Aug 2014 10:49 PM PDT

I was on a 2 way street (one lane each) and right after a stop sign there was a cruiser with another car double parked blocking my lane. I waited, since neither were moving, I was getting ready to pass them since i had a car behind me who was now blocking the intersection. I waited for oncoming traffic to pass so I can pass safely. Once I pass, the cruiser turns his lights.
I immediately went for my paperwork, but didn't find the insurance card (I'm insured). He states i was improperly passing and why I didn't wait since he was waiting for the car to park but neither were moving when I was waiting. Unfortunately my registration was expired leading to 3 tickets:
Improper passing 39:4-86
- Driving unregistered vehicle 39:3-4 (My fault I never got a notice saying i needed to renew my registration)
- Fail to show insurance 39:3-29C (he refused to see the geico app insurance card)
My car was impounded All tickets stated construction zone which is untrue. (No signs posted, and no work anywhere indicating there's construction being done on the entire street/ave)

My friend informed they were supposed to offer a ride or wait for us to get a taxi, but they told me and my friends to leave.

The improper passing is 4 points, and i wasn't going to honk, high beam or yell through my window at the officer to see if i could pass. I've seen 2 cars get pulled over in my city to see that the cops doesn't care if you can't see them up ahead with their lights off when someone honks at traffic.

Update : Note: I am not trying to sue or cause any trouble, i just need advice on how to get these charges lowered or dismissed considering the construction zone doubles fines in NJ

Question: When should I start seeing improvement in my driving skills?

Posted: 24 Aug 2014 09:01 PM PDT

I'm 16, got my permit 3 days ago. Today was my second day driving. I practice on a full parking lot at home. I'm practicing turning in reverse and turning forward, parking, braking, checking mirrors.

My biggest issue is when I'm turning in reverse. I keep confusing right and left. (I know, I sound really dumb when I say that) but when i'm in reverse and im too far to the left, i steer my wheel to the left again, because it feels like right to me. This is a major issue, and today I almost crashed into my neighbors front yard b/c of it.

I also press to instantaneously on the gas pedal, i dont know how to do it gently.

Got any advice?
