Upgrading Honda Civic 02 Speakers?

I have an 02 Honda Civic with stock speakers and a recently upgraded head unit (Pioneer MVH-x640bt), and I want to know if I can upgrade the two front speakers without an amp? Even with the new HU would I be losing so much quality that it wouldn't be worth it or would I see some quality increase?

The owners manual should tell you. If you are in possession of such vehicle there should be a sticker somewhere on the car that tells you weight loads too. Either in the glove compartment or in the door sill.
