Question: Motorcycle vs Car?

Comfort trumps. If you do not *love* riding in the cold and wet -- get a car.
If you want an expensive sporty bike you will not save money over an economical car.

Are you still in California? Take the CMSP class, $150. At age 15.5 you can get a car permit -- take and pass Driver's Education (class room) and Driver's Training (in a car, on the streets.) Take the certificates to the DMV and walk out with your motorcycle permit, ride solo, no freeways, daytime. Six months you swap the permit for a license and you can ride with your girlfriend in back, while your mates are still have a year's restriction.

Cars are more spacious, but you can carry a *lot* on a bike. I had a Savage 650, saddlebags that could carry 15+ pounds of groceries, each side, and could bolt a milk crate on the pillion/sissybar for more stuff. My Vespa has front and rear luggage racks and I can carry *two* 24-bottle cases of beer (and really, how much beer do you need?)
