Question: What high way speed on cruise will give me best mpg?

You are prove it yourself. Science says the energy needed is the square of the velocity. Means:

The lowest speed you can go in your top gear without the engine lugging. It's the same for any car.

Question: How much gas does it take to drive from mount airy nc to elkin nc in a 2001 rodeo?

Posted: 08 Aug 2014 10:58 PM PDT

We have a 2002 Rodeo and they get terrible gas mileage. Dimo J gave you very good info about the distance etc but the estimate of a Rodeo getting 25 mpg at 65 mph or 30 mpg at 40-45 mph is WAY off.

Typical gas mileage in a Rodeo will be around 16 mpg at 65 mph and if you're extremely lucky you might squeeze out 20 mpg going 40-45 mph.

So if your trip is roughly 30 miles you're going to need about 2 gallons to get there and if you plan to drive back an additional 2 gallons. That doesn't include any fuel for any additional driving around after you get to Elkin. So budget for at least 6 plus gallons to be realistic.

Current North Carolina gas prices are approx $3.25 per gallon. 6 gallons will be $19.25.

Hope this helps!

.

We own a Rodeo and I know how bad their gas mileage is in the real world no matter what info you can find to dispute my FACTS by looking online.
