04 sti problem :(?

So get this. All the sudden while driving my 04 STi last night out of nowhere it starts making a weird noise whenever you would acclerate. Almost like the noise of the intake on it got louder but at the same time the car lost power. I could feel a significant loss in torque and hp. After driving it home again on the freeway half way home it went away and accelerated fully without the odd noise. This morning I started it and it's doing it again where it makes a louder noise and accelerates with less power. Help anyone ?!?

Question: Why should you use new gasoline in an engine?

Posted: 06 Sep 2014 10:44 AM PDT

The days of storing gas for over a year are gone. Todays "Ethanol" has a shelf life of 60 days. Then ugly things begin to happen. It is a hydroscopic fuel, meaning it withdraws moisture from the air. This in turn causes corrosion of the fuel line, gaskets and "O" rings. Not normally a problem with daily drivers but will cause issues with stored gas tanks, vehicles, lawnmowers, bikes, snowblowers, boats, etc. Marina gas is excempt from Ethanol.

Question: Is the 2008 mazda3 s Grand Touring a good car?

Posted: 06 Sep 2014 08:49 AM PDT

The Mazda 3 is truly an underdog amongst Japanese compact sedans. Mileage does seem high for the year, so you may want to find out whether there highway miles or miles around town, since highway miles mean that they were easy miles. If it has a clean title it should be dependable and you should expect it to last at least 150k, or more.
