I have an Eclipse convertible 2007 used with about 70,000 miles on it. I've had it for about 2 years and bought it for about $14,000. In about 4 years I'll probably have to give it up because of it being old.

My step brother is selling his boxster porsche 2001 silver convertible for $14,000. I think it has about 70,000 miles on it also.

I can't decide if I should sell my car and get the porsche because either way, I will have to give up one of the cars in about 4 years. My mom said not for me to purchase the Porsche because it's "too old".

What do you think?

Wonderful for short trips, traveling by plane or car, using public transportation. However, not so suitable for rocky roads or very long strolls.

Update: 5 months later: I've used it almost everyday for the past months. extremely easy to maneuver and looks beautiful and brand new. No sign of wear and tear. For the price of almost half to 1/3 of mac lauren, it has been a great buy for us.

I know TDI's tend to run a little higher in mileage so that's fine. What I'm worried about, are the things that typically start failing out in this mileage-range.

I've yet to test drive it/see it, but I want some more ammunition to have before I visit the dealer. By looking at the Carfax itself, I've seen that the vehicle has not been owned by anyone other than dealerships for the last 6 months (it appears to have been bounced around to different car dealers in my area).
