had the same issue on my 96 best thing to do is let it sit for a bit before you try to start it again and yoll be fine , I have no idea why those do that I had all new plugs, wires, etc etc on it did the same. Just make sure you wait 10 min maybe and it will start, again no idea why but mine did the exact same thing.

I have a 99 volkswagen beetle. The compressor fan runs on speed 1, but the blower doesn't. On speeds 2 & 3 the fan quits & the blower blows warm air inside. What could be the problem here?

Question: What could cause High idle problems 97 Chevy blazer 4.3 vortec?

Possibly a vacuum leak, or bad TPS ...Throttle Position Sensor or IAC...Idle Air Control Valve. Check all vacuum hoses for cracks or splits or loose connections /hissing noises while engine is running and spray some carb cleaner spray around the areas where the throttle body meets the intake and intake meets the heads...if RPM's alter with carb spray applied, then that is where the vacuum leak is...bad gaskets. Check and clean the IAC...often times a sticking pintle in the IAC can cause high idle speeds...remove the IAC and clean the pintle end and bore with carb cleaner...test TPS for proper voltage outputs for various operating parameters/throttle position per shop manual specs.

Update : I'm 15 and starting to look at cars that I could buy so I could a school permit. Am looking at this 2001 Nissan Xterra that has 170000 miles on it. Is it still a good buy? It's from a dealership, so mechanically, it checks out. Tires are good, it's a manual transmission, decent fuel economy, and 4 wheel drive.
