All these animals would beat you to their top speed they are quick attack predators. a hundred yards or so you may be toast but any further they wear out..

Question: Is there traffic on the 57 south from Brea between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.?

There is no best route. The 57 will be very, very heavy then. Look at www.sigalert.com at 6:30 on a weekday morning to see what the traffic is like.

Take the 57 south until the 22 the go west on the 22. Exit on Beach into Huntington Beach

Question: Confused about the speed limit?

You do not have to the speed limit, you are allowed to go less.

I ride a 150cc scooter and my maximum is 65, on uphills I am doing less.
However, I stay in the far right lane, except for passing people like you.

Speedometers lie, generally about 10%. When I am on the freeway I can touch an indicated 72 mph -- and my GPS speed app on my Smartphone says I hit a maximum of 65. If you are doing an indicated 70 mph you will actually only doing 62-63 mph, under the limit.

I have talked cops (Hell, pappy was a cop) and they don't bother unless 5-10 mph over the limit. At an indicated 75-80 mph cars are actually doing 67-72 mph and unless they have a hair up their butt the cops will ignore them.

At an indicated 85 the cops will be pulling people over in a 65 zone.

Driving since 1962. Stopped for speed in '62, '65, and '70; warnings. Zero speed tickets in 51+ years, and not because I stay below the indicated speed limit.

Question: Is 40 mph enough to outrun a bear? I'm talking about a full grown bear that is hungry and determined to kill no matter what.?
